Making pears for baby food is ridiculously simple. When you realize that you’re paying almost $0.28 per ounce of commercial pear baby food, you’ll start making your own for a fraction of the cost and a gigantic increase in taste and quality.
Baby's First Pear Sauce
- 6 ripe pears (Bosc or Anjou)
- Peel and de-seed the pears
- Add pears to a saucepan with about 1 inch of water and steam until pears are soft and have turned into a sauce.
- Mash or puree if needed, using the leftover steaming water to thin if necessary
