Day 28 – Saucy Avocados – 365 Days of Baby Food

Avocado is a brain food and is in fact, a super food for the whole body. Avocados are one of the best foods that you can feed your baby from 6 months on.  Both apples and avocado are considered ideal first foods for babies.

Mixing mashed avocado with homemade (or store-bought) applesauce creates a wonderful “meal” for baby and also, a great dipping dip for big kids!  Mash this mix a bit chunky and you have a great recipe for baby led weaners and those how are beginning to use a spoon.

Day 28 – Saucy Avocados – 365 Days of Baby Food


Ingredients

  • 1 avocado – pitted (flesh scooped out)
  • 2 apples – peeled (cored and roughly chopped)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, steam the apples in a scant amount of water until soft and tender.
  2. Mash or puree the apples and avocado together until you have a consistency suitable for your baby.
