Is it a Biscuit? Nifty Finger Baby Food Recipe

Elaine sent us an email sharing her nifty idea to use purees that baby doesn’t like anymore.  Even if your baby is still into the purees, you can use them to make these biscuits/gummys/whateveryoudecidetocallthems 🙂

1 1/2 cup flour (whole wheat flour will make these a bit more gummy – try 1/2 whole and 1/2 all purpose white)
1 cup (approx 7-8 food cubes) of veggie or fruit puree or mashed up ‘naners
water
spices if desired – cinnamon, garlic powder (only for veggie puree tho!)

Mix the flour and the puree together
Slowly add water until you have a doughy cake-ish texture

Roll into a big log and then cut off “sticks”, make braids, roll little logs – whatever suits your fancy and whatever shape would be best for your baby!

Lightly oil a baking sheet (Use olive oil or a cooking spray)
Bake in a 375 F degree oven for 10 minutes and then flip and bake for another 10 minutes.
You want these to be golden but not burned.  They should come out firm and solid but not really crispy!

Elaine lets us know that you definately need to expirement with the texture of the dough and that they are great with morning tea!  Try a sweet potato or apple biscuit/gummy/whateveryoudecidetocallthems 🙂
