Slow Cooker Lemon Chicken with Sweet Potatoes

Chicken and sweet potatoes is a classic combination that the majority of babies and toddlers love. When serving this to your baby or toddler, add a bit of butter to their portion for a nice flavor boost and an extra bit of healthy fat. My boys loved when I would add applesauce to their bowl of chicken and sweet potatoes.

Pears for Baby Food – Making homemade pear baby food

Tasty and easy to digest, pears are a great Stage 1 food for babies.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ripe Pears

Instructions

  1. Wash pears
  2. Remove skin, cut in half and remove seeds
  3. Chop into pieces
  4. Add pears to a saucepan with about 1 inch of water
  5. Steam until pears are soft and have turned into a sauce
  6. Mash or puree as needed for your baby's taste preference

Notes

For babies just beginning solid foods, it may be best to remove the skins of any fruits and veggies that you will serve. This helps your baby to more easily digest the newly introduced solid foods. If your baby has been eating solid foods for a few weeks, you could try to serve fruits and veggies with the skin on.

Pears are naturally watery and juicy so you may not need to add extra liquid to thin them. Pears, and even pear juice, are a great fruit to offer as a remedy to help alleviate baby's constipation.
